ON THE COVER
The NV200 Compact Cargo Van
Nissan is active in the commercial vehicle business with the launch of its full-sized commercial vans featuring rugged ladder frames, standard and high-roof versions, or a choice of 6-cylinder and 8-cylinder engines to meet the needs of commercial customers. The NV1500, NV2500 and NV3500 vans are built alongside Titan at Nissan’s Canton, Miss. assembly plant.
The 2013 Nissan NV200 follows the full-size Nissan NV Cargo, and the full-size Nissan NV Passenger vans. The NV200 broadens the NV van lineup offering a small commercial compact van designed to meet the growing needs of small business owners who need maneuverability, utility and the fuel economy offered by the lightweight cargo hauler. The NV200 Compact Cargo van is based on Nissan’s proven B-platform. It offers a low load floor, excellent cargo capacity, and the driver-focused cockpit that provides very good driver comfort and multiple amenities for “Mobile Office” functionality. The NV200’s power comes from the efficient MR20DE engine, matched with the responsive and efficient Xtronic CVT®. This continuously variable transmission, coupled with the 2.0 liter 16-valve DOHC 4-cylinder engine, delivers increased torque capacity, quicker acceleration, improved drivability, and high fuel economy.
The NV200 is being manufactured in Cuernavaca, Mexico and will be the basis for Nissan’s New York Taxi of Tomorrow, the exclusive taxi of New York City, which launches this fall.
