Infiniti Connection is available on the Infiniti Q50, Q70, QX60 and QX80. As more Infiniti vehicles are equipped with the technology, explaining and demonstrating its features and benefits becomes more important. Equally important is ensuring that the system is properly activated.
Create Customer Satisfaction
Vehicles equipped with Infiniti Connection arrive at the dealership with the TCU turned off. Activation is part of the service department’s Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI).
“What Can I Do?”
Familiarize yourself with the service department’s activation process to help ensure that all vehicles are properly activated.
Test to make sure the TCU is activated prior to delivery. Press the INFO button on the console area to take you to the Infiniti Connection menu. If the vehicle icon is grayed out with a line through it, the TCU is not activated.
Activate the TCU
If you discover that a TCU is not activated while delivering a vehicle, you will need to perform the activation. It is a relatively quick fix and can usually be done while the customer is waiting.
Turning ON the TCU
1. Connect the CONSULT-III (C-III) plus VI to the vehicle.
2. Set the parking brake.
3. Push the push button ignition switch twice to ON mode.
4. Launch C-III plus on the CONSULT PC.
5. Select Diagnosis (One System).
6. Select Telematics on page 2 of the all systems list.
7. Select Work Support.
8. Select TCU Activate Setting.
9. Select Start.
10. Select Start again.
11. Select ON to turn ON the TCU.
12. Select END.
Have the customer press the SOS button before leaving the dealership. The first time the customer presses the button; the Infiniti Connection response agent will first verify that the customer does not need emergency assistance and then will perform an acquaintance call to introduce the system. By performing this service before the Activate the TCU customer leaves your dealership, you can confirm that the TCU is activated.
