POWER INVERTER
Powering 120 volt AC accessories for work or recreational
activities enhances the capabilities of any truck. The 2016 TITAN XD
offers a front 120 volt AC power outlet and rear 120 volt
AC power outlet in the bed.
The 2016 TITAN XD incorporates a front 120 volt AC power outlet
housed in the rear of the center console. The available rear
120 volt power outlet is located in the driver side pickup
bed inner box. Each outlet is powered by 12 volt DC vehicle
power that is converted to 120 volt AC by the on-board
power inverter unit.
COMPONENT PARTS LOCATIONS
POWER INVERTER OPERATION
- To use the outlets for devices that require 120V power, push the ignition to the ON position and push the power inverter switch.
- The 400W or 150W on the switch will illuminate according to the mode selected.
- The inverter unit outputs the converted voltage to the AC 120V outlet (console) and rear AC 120V outlet (bed) (if equipped) two seconds after the AC 120V outlet main switch is turned ON.
- 400 watts AC power is available (400W on the switch will illuminate) when the ignition is placed in the ON position and the vehicle is in Park (P).
- As long as the engine is running the vehicle battery will be recharged by the vehicle alternator with no concern for battery drain.
- Only 150 watts is available when the vehicle is being driven (gear selector not in Park), to ensure on-board systems function properly during vehicle operation.
NOTE:
- Refer to the information for your accessory to determine the wattage requirement.
- If more than one accessory is being used at the same time, add the wattage requirement of all accessories being used to determine your total wattage requirement.
- DO NOT operate an accessory, or a combination of accessories that require more watts then is available (150W or 400W) depending on what is illuminated on the switch.
- If power consumption exceeds the available wattage, the system will shut down, requiring the user to:
- Unplug the accessory.
- Wait a few minutes for the system to cool down.
- Turn the system back ON by pressing the inverter power switch.

NOTE:
- Because of modified sine wave output, the AC 120V outlet MAY NOT operate devices normally if their power consumption is 150W or less. Examples are:
- Electric applianced requiring a large amount of electric power consumption at start-up (e.g. a CRT-based TV or a power tool).
- Measuring instruments for data requiring accuracy (e.g. cretuian medical equipment or a messuring instrument).
- Microprocessor-controlled appliances (e.g. mircoprocessor-controlled blanket).
- Noises frmo the power inverter may be caused in a radio or the TV audio output.
