The world does not disappear the moment our customers get behind the wheel, which is why the Q50 is built with technologies that let customers bring their world with them.
Audio in the Key of Infiniti
With the Next Generation BOSE® Sound System, the BOSE® sound engineers have created an audio experience custom-tuned for the all-new Infiniti Q50. This 14-speaker system is anchored by three 10-inch wheel-woofers for clearer, deep frequencies and enhanced sound pressure. The remaining speakers are then aligned to provide a surround sound that is optimized for the cabin’s acoustics, filtering out noise and distortion for a liveperformance experience that is uniquely Infiniti.
The Infiniti Audio system includes the following features
- Infiniti Controller - The multifunction switch located on the center console is connected to the integral switch to transmit the switch operational signal to the display control unit via AV communication.
- AM/FM Audio System and single disc in dash CD player - The radio signals for AM/FM are received by the printed antenna line on the rear window. The main line is used for AM and FM, and the sub line is used for FM. The AV control unit reads the music data from CD; it transmits the sound signal to BOSE® amplifier. The AV control unit reads text data from the the CD; it transmits text information to the display control unit via Universal Serial Bus (USB) communication. The display control unit displays the text data (artist, album and song title) that is received from the AV control unit.
- The SiriusXM® Satellite Radio comes with a 90-day complimentary trial. The satellite radio tuner is built into the AV control unit.
- The SiriusXM® Travel Link comes with a 90- day complimentary trial with access to weather, fuel prices, stocks, sports and movie times.
- There are two USB drive port inputs that can play music from a compatible iPod®, flash drive or any other compatible mass storage device. When an iPod® or USB memory device is connected to the USB port, the external data input box transmits the music data and text data from the iPod® or USB memory device to the display control unit via USB communication.
- Aux input - The auxiliary input jacks consist of the image input terminal and sound input terminal.
- Bluetooth® audio - A Bluetooth® module is integrated into the display control unit. Music data, artist, album and song title in a portable audio device can all be played and displayed via Bluetooth® communication.
- BOSE® Centerpoint® - The BOSE® Centerpoint® provides a surround sound effect, based on a stereo sound source, such as CD, MP3, WMA and AAC. It functions with the BOSE® amplifier stereophonic sound playback and divides the sound among five channels to add a sense of simulated surround playback sound.
- BOSE® AudioPilot® - The BOSE® AudioPilot® noise compensation technology is a sound-improving system that picks up any noises or the sound of music coming into the vehicle by a front microphone and then uses the BOSE® amplifier to cancel these unwanted noises. The system improves the sound by digitally processing and revising the frequency of music in real time, compensating in response to the frequencies of the noise created while driving.
- Audio indicator - The AV control unit sends the system audio status to the display control unit via AV communication. It then transmits the meter display signal to the combination meter. When the combination meter receives the meter display signal, it displays the audio status on the information display screen.
