THE TITAN FAMILY
The TITAN family full-size pickup lineup just expanded with the introduction of the TITAN Single Cab.
The Single Cab is the latest member to join the TITAN family along with the 2017 TITAN Crew Cab and TITAN XD Crew Cab pickups.
The Single Cab (which is the first ever single cab in TITAN history) is also offered on TITAN XD configurations.
TITAN and TITAN XD are available with 4×4 and 4×2 drive configurations and with five grade levels: S, SV, SL, Platinum Reserve, and the off-road PRO-4X (available exclusively as a 4x4).
The 2017 TITAN Crew Cab and Single Cab pickups come standard with the VK56VD 5.6-liter Endurance® V8 engine (with a V6 engine available at a later date).
NOTE: The upcoming addition of a King Cab means TITAN will have three traditional cab sizes with three bed lengths.
The TITAN XD Single Cab, like the TITAN XD Crew Cab, features a choice of two engines:
The TITAN half-ton pickup VK56VD Endurance® engines utilize a 4-valve-per-cylinder, Nissan Direct Injection System (DIG™) and an advanced VVEL (Variable Valve Event & Lift) technology.
This is combined with hydraulic-controlled variable valve timing and electronically-controlled variable valve lift on the intake side.
The TITAN half-ton Single Cab and Crew Cab models have a different separate body-on frame (fully boxed, full-length ladder-type) chassis than the TITAN XD.
The TITAN Single Cab and Crew Cab’s chassis has a shorter wheelbase (139.8 inches versus TITAN XD’s 151.6 inches). Since the frames are different, so are the suspensions, differentials and even the wheel lugs.
Also standard on the TITAN PRO-4X, is an electronic locking rear differential (E-Lock) that distributes torque to both sides and provides four wheel drive when added traction is needed.
The TITAN features an Active Grille Shutter, which helps reduce drag by closing the grille opening behind the radiator when a large amount of air flow is not needed (based on coolant temperature, vehicle speed and air conditioning system pressure).
*Towing capability varies by configuration. Towing capability varies by configuration.
The new TITAN Single Cab models are assembled in Canton, Mississippi with the 5.6-liter V8 gasoline engine assembled in Decherd, Tennessee. The 5.0-liter diesel engines are assembled by Cummins, Inc. in Columbus, Indiana.
