2017 QX30 TPMS

TPMS systems monitor the amount of air within the tires on a vehicle and are designed to alert the driver when one or more of the tires is significantly under-inflated, typically 20% below the correct inflation level.

With auto-learn, previously stored pressures for the front and rear wheels are used as comparative or benchmark values. If there is a severe pressure loss and one or more of the tires pressure has dropped significantly (i.e., rapid deflation, punctured tire) in comparison to the last tire pressure values stored, the warning threshold of the TPMS system may trigger various tire pressure warnings such as:

NOTE: New vehicles are delivered to the dealer with higher than normal tire pressure. If the auto-learn system stores (benchmarks) this higher tire pressure in the TPMS, when the pressure is lowered during PDI, the TPMS system will interpret the tire pressure change as a rapid loss of tire pressure and turn ON the warning functions.
