ON THE COVER

2015 Nissan GT-R

As the Nissan GT-R supercar enters another new model year, the most significant change for 2015 will be the upcoming launch of the 600-horsepower GT-R NISMO although the GT-R Premium, GT-R Black Edition and GT-R Track Edition will receive a range of important enhancements as well.

The new headlights feature an Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) that automatically adapts the angle of the light beam according to the speed of the vehicle. At highway speeds, actuators in the headlight unit adjust the angle of the projectors to transmit the light out further.

The sophisticated 4-wheel independent suspension has been fine-tuned to reduce load fluctuation between the four wheels, giving enhanced handling and improved grip. The suspension has modified front stabilizer spring rates and updated bush links. The GT-R’s steering has been fine-tuned to reduce the effort for city driving while maintaining GT-R’s exceptional feedback during highway driving. The Brembo® brakes have been recalibrated for a firmer, more linear response.

The 2015 GT-R Premium, Black Edition and Track Edition are powered by the exclusive, hand-assembled, 545-horsepower, advanced VR38DETT, 3.8-liter, twin turbo V6, rated at 463 lb.-ft. of torque. The VR38DETT incorporates high-output injectors that more precisely control fuel injection to improve mid-range engine response and acceleration at higher rpm’s. The engine utilizes a secondary air management system for improved cold-start emissions performance. It is also equipped with a thermostatically-controlled oil cooling system and oil scavenger pump to keep oil flowing to the turbochargers.
