The RE0F10D CVT detects the vehicle driving status from switches, sensors and signals and controls the vehicle so that the optimum shift position and shift timing may always be achieved. It also controls the vehicle to reduce drivetrain friction, shift and lock-up shock, etc.
- Receives input signals from switches and sensors.
- Sends the output signal necessary for the operation of the solenoid valves and evaluates the line pressure, shift timing, lock-up operation, engine brake performance, etc.
- If a malfunction occurs in the electric system, it activates the fail-safe mode only to drive the vehicle.
UPDATES INCLUDE:
- New transmission case compatible with 4WD application, idle stop, HEV and other options
- New CVT shift strategy (various shift patterns according to the driver’s selection)
- Wide RPM range for all driving conditions
- Less friction due to reduced pulley pressure, down-sized oil pump and use of Nissan NS-3 Low Viscosity Oil
- Lower engine RPM at highway speeds, which helped result in less engine noise and improved fuel economy
- Early torque converter lock-up helps provide better fuel economy
- New control logic and expanded gear ratio coverage helps reduce noise and fuel consumption while improving drivability and responsiveness
NEW LOGIC INCLUDES:
- Lift Foot Hold function that holds the gear ratio if the accelerator pedal is momentarily released and then reapplied, such as when merging onto a freeway.
- Brake Downshift function that “downshifts” the transmission when braking is applied before entering a corner, so re-acceleration is enhanced when exiting the corner because the CVT is already in a lower gear ratio.
NEW SHIFT STRATEGY
New shift concept provides drivers with a direct acceleration feeling using Step AT Shift pattern. When the accelerator pedal is depressed 4/8 or more in D (Drive) position, the CVT performs step shifting to allow the vehicle speed and engine speed to increase simultaneously. This improves the feel of acceleration and improves fuel economy by preventing unnecessary rise in engine speed, compared to the conventional shifting.
- Step AT Shift is active with the transmission selector in D (Drive) position on hard acceleration; always active in Ds position.
- Step AT Shift helps improve the sensation of acceleration.
